    1962 – Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR) formed by the Department of Atomic Energy and work on establishing Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) started. 1963 – First sounding rocket launched from TERLS (November 21, 1963). 1965 – Space Science & Technology Centre (SSTC) established in Thumba. 1967 – Satellite Telecommunication Earth Station set up at Ahmedabad. 1979 – First Experimental launch of SLV-3 with Rohini Technology Payload on board (August 10, 1979). Satellite could not be placed in orbit. 1995 Launch of third operational Indian Remote Sensing Satellite, IRS-1C(December 28, 1995). 1999 Indian Remote Sensing Satellite, IRS-P4 (OCEANSAT), launched by Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C2) along with Korean KITSAT-3 and German DLR-TUBSAT from Sriharikota (May 26, 1999). 2004 The first operational flight of GSLV (GSLV-F01) successfully launched EDUSAT from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota (September 20, 2004)
  • Reqruitment Process:
    Step-1: ISRO issues a notification regarding recruitment procedure in leading newspapers and its website. General Cutoff is 65% aggregate in Engineering and entire academic track record. Based on it, they send invitation to only 5% of total number of applications recieved for written test. Step-2: Written Test contains 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and time alloted is 90 minutes. Each correct answer gives 3 marks and negative answer gives -1 mark. Questions are asked from entire B.E. syllabus.Based on it, they send invitation for interview round to only 5% of total number of candidates called for written test i.e.0.0025% applications recieved for written test. Step-3: Usually, the interview round is very exhaustive and these people ask for very clear basics questions. In this round, selection totally depends on ability of the candidate.
